Map Mail Policy

Rules for person-to-person and business-to-person messaging through Map.ca’s Map Mail surface.

Map Mail is a messaging surface. It is bound by the Anti-Spam Policy, the Community Standards, and the Map.ca-specific rules in this policy: no unsolicited commercial messaging, identity-scoped sender displays, abuse-reporting flow that mirrors the in-product reporting flow, message retention aligned with the Data Retention and Deletion Policy.

It applies to anyone with a Map Mail-enabled account, businesses using Map Mail to respond to inbound contact, and Map.ca’s abuse-handling team.

Requirements

  • Display sender identity scope (verified, business, individual).
  • Provide an in-line report-abuse affordance on every message thread.

Prohibitions

  • Do not send unsolicited commercial messages through Map Mail.
  • Do not retain messages past the documented retention period.
