Anti-Manipulation Policy

Prevents tag stuffing, false service claims, duplicate Pins, fake locations, false reviews, mass-generated spam, and misleading listings.

Map.ca is a structured signal layer. The Anti-Manipulation Policy defines the manipulation patterns that degrade that signal — tag stuffing, false service claims, duplicate Pins, fake locations, false reviews, mass-generated spam, misleading listings — and the detection, response, and appeal flow that handles them.

It applies to anti-abuse tooling, moderation staff, AI moderation systems, and any Pin owner whose listing is flagged. Detection may be AI-assisted; outcomes affecting accounts require human review.

Requirements

  • Use AI to detect manipulation patterns; require human review for account-level outcomes.
  • Document manipulation categories and remediation steps publicly.
  • Preserve appeal rights under the Appeals Policy.

Prohibitions

  • Do not let AI alone suspend or remove an account.
  • Do not selectively enforce against some Pin owners and not others.
